I can see, though, why devs might prefer to take that marketing on themselves. But still, I think overall, this is much better than what I was expecting from Apple. Why would I want to waste my time searching the internet for apps for my iphone or iPod touch (let's not forget this growing segment of the equation) when I can conveniently find them all in one place & download them immediately. After all most of us have a life. The developers just have to think about the App part & do not have to deal with credit cards, pay pal, billing, hosting, marketing & have shelf space on one of the most successful internet storefronts in existence. Every Iphone & iPod touch user will be able to see everyone of those apps at anytime of their choosing & download it immediately to the device or at home from their computer, updates will be a no brainer & take little effort on the users part.
