Breakfast Links: Doomsday, Radiohead & Questionaut

Monday and the Art.
Well… it’s official, the US economy is in the shitter. Greenspan says “The current financial crisis in the US is likely to be judged in retrospect as the most wrenching since the end of the second world war.” All this triggered by JP Morgan buying Bear Sterns for $2/share - $236 million. That’s 87% off it’s 52 week high. To put that into some context it’d be like buying Apple for $2.70 a share. As Seinfeld once said… that can’t be good for business.
That may cause some of you to decide to look for some more money to pad the wallet. Well, look no further… Radiohead’s going to pay you to make their next video! They’re running a contest and aspiring animators will have a chance to be the next Magnus Carlsson. Sadly, though, 10 semifinalists will be award $1000 each to make a minute long version and the winner will get a piddling $10k to make the full length video. It seems like Radiohead’s kinda ripping off these animators - but I’m sure a lotta folks will still rock it for the exposure it’ll give them. I’m just saying.
Lastly, it’s been awhile since I directed your attention to a time wasting flash game. So, to rectify this situation, check out Questionaut. It’s a really beautiful game - reminds me a little of the art of Jack Long. Half puzzle game and half are you smarter than a 5th grader, it’s pretty good times. (via)
