You know, I was reading this thing last week about how muni-wifi dreams were crumbling around people’s ears. I thought to myself, “Well… Duuuuuh.” Wifi was always flawed as a wide area network because it was never meant to hit that. WiMax, like XOHM, was the new cool in town and made much more sense. Now I just read how some Aussie WiMax operator’s throwing in the towel after a year of service. Why? “its non-line of sight performance was “non-existent†beyond just 2 kilometres from the base station, indoor performance decayed at just 400m and that latency rates reached as high as 1000 milliseconds.” *weeps* (via)
Another thing I concern myself with on this blog is the vital - and eternal - question of Minotaur v. Centaur. They’ve now got videos of 8 BSGers giving their opinion on this vital matter. Interestingly, all the men have some sort of opinion and all the women, save one, have no idea what a minotaur or a centaur is. Except for Grace Park who gives an in depth, well thought out discussion on the topic. She’s asian. I’m just saying.
And then we come to the dude who hypnotized a bank clerk in Italy and had her hand over the ducats. How awesome is that? Is it more or less awesome that in that story they cite the fact that the hypnotizer “bears an uncanny resemblance to Saddam Hussein”? I think South Park should have something to say about that!
And speaking of hypnotizing… you are getting sleepier… and sleepier…. when I type something in bold, you will feel compelled to vote my chair as the ugliest… GOOD MORNING!
