I found the Yoda quote on some dude's website along with a list of his other favorite "inspirational quotes." The Stroustrup quote is more humorous than inspirational but I thought it was funny and well written.

From my nascent experience with Wordpress, I think MT and Wordpress are probably pretty comparable in terms of the final product. This is based only on cursory research when I was selecting a blog platform, but it seemed MT was more corporate and cost $$$ and Wordpress was more about fostering a community.

A few years ago I actually designed two blogs that ended up being powered by TypePad and MT, respectively. The first one came out terribly b/c the guy who put it together thought he was a designer and basically, how shall I put this, reinterpreted my design in a way that was not to my liking. As for the second site, the developer was excellent and the site was just like my Photoshop comps except it was fully functional. I found the admin tools easy to use on TypePad for the most part. Occasionally I stumbled upon circuitous ways of doing things that made for a puzzling and slightly frustrating experience...apparently my sense of logic differed from theirs. Also, MT kept useles statistics.

In the end I chose WP because it's free, there seems to be a great community of people using it, I like Wordpress's tone and "brand," and it was pretty easy to install. Anyway, not sure if I am coherent. Should probably head to sleep now.

Nice. I can see how Google might confuse Yoda and Stroustrop. :)

As for Wordpress and MT. Well just because I like one language more
than the next doesn't mean the products all have to be better! I
think, I actually tried installing MT first, but had troubles. I think
I'm glad though, I like wordpress.

btw, I came across this quote a couple of days when I was looking for something else (a Yoda quote actually heh):

"C makes it easy to shoot yourself in the foot; C++ makes it harder, but when you do, it blows away your whole leg."
- Bjarne Stroustrup

I don't know anything about either language but I'm going to go out on a limb and assume he knows what he's talking about. ;-)

And curiously, you use Wordpress instead of Movable Type--though I'm guessing other reasons drove you to using Wordpress instead.
