Super cool, not one but two people climbed the New York Times building yesterday! The first one, Alain Robert (aka the French Spiderman) climbed to bring publicity to global warming. Or for the adrenaline rush, since he climbed without roping in or anything. Y’know, one or the other. Shortly after that some copycat dude from Brooklyn decided to give it a go. Both were arrested at the top. First of all yeah, it’s cool and all. But I think for Alain it was a gimme – I’m kinda with the cop who said:
To be honest, looking at this building, you don’t have to be a professional. This building is like a ladder.
Not saying I’m going to do it (although don’t think I haven’t thought about what that’d be like and what situation I might find myself in where it would be reasonable to attempt such a thing, because I have), but as far as 50 some odd story buildings go, this is probably about the easiest one to do. But check out the awesome pictures anyway. They’re totally wicked.
Also, wicked is the onslaught of female wrestling in Bolivia! Ok. One picture is worth at least a paragraph of words, so I’ll just leave it at this:

And finally, this one goes out to all you oldsters out there. Don’t worry, there’s hope for your sad, wrinkly brains yet. Researchers have shown that you can get smarter when your old! Short term, or working memory, can improve with brain games which turns out to also improve fluid intelligence. Pretty freakin’ good news if you ask me. I’ll tell you where my fluid intelligence is going in my dotage, straight down the drain, so I’m glad busting out the Lumosity IQ game will help me find my inner Stephen Hawking. I wonder if World of Warcraft also makes me smarter… maybe I should finally pick that up. I could dedicate my every waking hour to increasing my intelligence… hm.
