I’ve been iffy on Clone Wars, I mean that interview with Lucas was achingly bad. Now there’s some footage of the thing. Watch first then we’ll discuss:
Well, that doesn’t look too bad. It isn’t hard to make a big budget trailer packed with fighting Jedi that looks good. But check out this trailer with some bootleg footage of that assault scene:
Is it just me or everytime someone or something opens their mouth in this movie, it’s … annoying. I’m just saying, and the comic relief of those robots! Ho ho hooo! Yeah, no. Argh. It’s so clumsy.
The animation looks good except for when it’s of the actual people and their interactions although I have to say even that is not as objectionable as I thought it would be. Much better than other animation I’ve seen of the sort.
I dunno, I’ll probably end up watching it… if they can make it all action all the time, I might even like it. Because, well, I don’t mind seeing all sorts of folk with all sorts of crazy light sabers bouncing around and beating each other up. But, Lucas is terrible at interaction and development and the animation style doesn’t help that so if there’s too much of that, I doubt it’ll amount to much. You looking forward to this? Or did Eps I-III give you the same high opinion of Lucas as I have?
