70’s Art for a Dinosaur Monday

Came across this video interview with Guillermo del Toro. Pretty great interview talks about a lot of stuff, not least of which is his thoughts on his work on the upcoming Hobbit movies. It also ranges over trying to get Neil Gaiman to direct the Death movie, his desire to make a Lovecraft movie (please!) and obviously a lot of Hellboy talk. I don’t know about you, but I haven’t seen one of his movies that I haven’t really enjoyed from the Devil’s Backbone, to Hellboy, to Pan’s Labyrinth. I admit that I don’t really remember Blade II, but I’m pretty sure I found that a decent good time.

Also, I doubt I’ve met any dolphins that I haven’t found to be incredibly cute. This is most likely due to the no dolphins I’ve ever met, but I’ve read about several of them and I think that counts. For example a pod of maybe 20 dolphins has wound up in a NJ river and seems to be hanging out there - it isn’t known if they’re lost or just discovering that NJ and they are perfect together. Some concerns are raised and worries had about the stress of chilling in what gets to be a very crowded area and plan B if they don’t leave soon on their own. Huh, I want to go and see them!

Lastly another game in the whole hand drawn physics type of game. This one less having to do with anything hand drawn since you don’t get to actually draw anything, it’s more just a look, but the phun is definitely there in Poiser. It’s a puzzley game where you drop blocks of various and surprising sizes onto a see-saw and try and build a pyramid that reaches a dotted line. It’s super simple, you figure out how to play immediately, but it’s kind of addicting because you never believe it when you lose. Give it a shot, for realz and see if you can get past my high score of 59! Boy am I smart!
