Breakfast Links: Prisoner Remake, General Hammond & Spore
So, a little more news on that Prisoner remake. (via) The good news is that Ian McKellen will star as Number Two. I’m curious and skeptical thought, that they’ll be able to make something that lives up to the original. I’m not sure what it was about that show, but it was awesome. Of course this twitter from Matt Fraction (of Iron Fist fame, at least, that’s how I know him) doesn’t really engender a lot of hope, either. Sigh. On the other hand you can check out Matt’s blog and see the funny header image he’s got on it.
Sadly, though, last sunday Don Davis passed away, best know (to me) as General Hammond from Star Gate. (via) That’s pretty sad, he was pretty young at 65. Check out his IMDB page to see what else he’s worked in, it’s a ton. Pretty funny that he was on two episodes of MacGyver way back in the day. That must have played a big role in getting his Star Gate work. :)
And lastly Kotaku got a chance to actually play spore, not just fiddle with the creature creator as the rest of us plebs get to do. Hey, I’ve got a mac and can’t even download the full version yet. WTF? Anyhow, let’s just say the whole thing looks pretty ridiculously fun. They’ve apparently got creators for everything, like buildings and space ships! That, my dearest comrade, is precisely what I’m talking about. I won’t be able to give EA my money fast enough. I wonder what the iPhone version is going to be like.
