Breakfast Links: Whedon Misc, Cosplay Tours & hitmanforhire.net
Couple’a interesting Whedon bits here. First, he’s planning on doing one webisode of Dollhouse per TV episode, so 13. (via) Hot damn! They may be shown between episodes. We’ll see, but that’s pretty great. Turns out Joss knows a thing or three about how to do well on the internet. Also you probably want to read this interview with him, he talks about Dr. Horrible and Dollhouse and stuff. I’ll leave it with this from him:
“But asking me not to make jokes is like asking Monet to lose the lilypads.”
Ahh… anyhow, moving along, if you’ve always wanted an insider’s tour of Akihabara given to you buy a lady dressed up as a gothic lolita, well, good news! Now you can! (via) Or if you don’t swing that way you can have the dude with the spiky hair be your guide. I know you’re down with it. Also on that site check out these reviews of Maid cafes. These are in depth comparative reviews. It’s like they want to college and majored in Maid cafe theory. Totally fantastic.
Ok. You can’t even believe this last one. You can’t. Some dude in Las Vegas decided he wanted to live the life of a professional assassin, but wondered how he’d get some clients. Obviously, this being the age of the internets, he built a website. (via) Then he got the clients. Then instead of trying to kill the targets, he’d try to get them to pay him not to kill them. Then the targets would go to the police. Then he gets arrested. Twice. It was, apparently, the biggest story in Ireland foreva. That article is a bit long, but you really have to read it, it’s like a bad (actually, maybe a kinda good) comedy/action movie. Just in case you want to see the high-tech, trustworthy sort of site that actually got people to send him thousands of dollars to kill someone take a look at this page from the wayback machine (the actual site is, of course, down).
