Art on a Monday. No surprise.
Ok, so you know the credit crunch is big news, everyone’s feeling the pinch. Sadly, even the fairy realm is feeling it – this report shows that the Tooth Fairy is buying used teeth (kinda gross, when you actually think about it) for 30% less on average in the past 6 months! (via) How sad is that? The study was done in Britain, so maybe we’re still holding strong here in the US or at least in NYC! Poor Tooth Fairy.
And check it, one of the most widely awaited for games ever, Spore is out. But check it, I saw this post on how there was a little insurrection going on in the Amazon reviews. Apparently it’s got this crazy SecuROM DRM on the game which only allows for 3 installs of the game ever, amongst other problems. And people don’t like that, it turns out. I went to take a look at the reviews myself and a stunning 120 (out of 141) ratings are 1 star. In the few minutes it took me to read that and then write this post, literally 4 new one star ratings showed up. Poor EA. (and check out this luke warm review of the Warhammer beta for more reasons to feel sad for them)
So apparently a new satellite just went up that’s going to be supplying high res color images to the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (for national security) and also exclusively to Google (for Google maps). I dunno, that seems nutty to me! Although I don’t mind seeing even more detailed images in maps. Huh. Poor everyone else.
