Breakfast Links: Church apology to Darwin, Man seeks hot roommate & Blaine hanging in NYC

This is pretty amazing, really. The Church of England has issued an apology to Charles Darwin, a touch late – granted – but nevertheless… (via) I mean, this really is pretty amazing – essentially a rejection of Creationism/Intelligent Design, no? Check it:

Opposition to evolutionary theories is still “a litmus test of faithfulness” for some Christian movements, the Church will admit. It will say that such attitudes owe much to a fear of perceived threats to Christianity.

The Church has a site up where they go into detail. A little wishy washy, but more than I expected.

On the other hand not wishy washy is this financial dude looking for a roommate who will live rent free (via) – but they’ll have to be a woman, be good looking, cook for him every now and then, clean the apartment once a week, clean his stuff every now and again. It’s pretty amazing his list of stuff, it’s hard to pick the best one, but I think on several levels this one sums it up:

5. They can watch the TV in the lounge and I will allow them to watch what they want sometimes.

Apparently this set of emails, which the dude describes as a “joke” might get him fired. Maybe he’ll be the one looking good and cleaning!

Ah well. David Blaine is coming to NYC this week. Apparently he’s going to try to hang upside down (with magnetic boots!) over Wollman Rink for 60 hours! (via) I’m not really sure why he’s got so many haters, but you gotta admit, that’s pretty hard core. No? I tried hanging hanging upside down this morning for like a minute. I mean, I lay on my bed. With my head back. That was rough.

  • Blane is great, he is one reason that living in NY is so interesting. A bit of a freak but what the hell, it's New York. As far as the church, I bet the Flying Spaghetti Monster has a weapon of some kind right at the Pope's temple.
