Remember oh those many decades ago when that Pepsi guy kicked Steve Jobs out of Apple and then proceeded to kill it? Notcot has found that Fortune magazine where they write all about the Fall of Steve Jobs – the August 5, 1985 issue. It’s digital photograph of all the pages, so it isn’t really easy reading, but it’s pretty interesting stuff. Has an interesting sidebar (incomplete, though) on Lucas and Pixar, too. I totally didn’t know that Pixar came out of Lucasfilms. Is that common knowledge? I’m profoundly embarrassed at my lack of this geeky knowledge.
So, I thought that we had already established that linking and deep linking were legal things to do? No? I guess we’ll find out soon as the city of Sheboygan has ordered Jennifer Reisinger to stop linking to their police department – they’re even launching a criminal investigation? (via) I mean, isn’t that crazy? Criminal investigation over a link to the site? Hopefully this percolates up to one of those courts that actually makes a difference and they lay the smackdown on Sheboygan. Of course, it could go the other way I suppose and then we’d all be screwed. Sigh.
Heh, at least there’ll always be the Sarah Palin Baby Name Generator! (via) My name, awesomely, had I been born to Gov. Palin would have been Tarp Lazer Palin! I twittered that and a couple folks responded, my favourite has to be Fantastic’s Shaver Razorback Palin and Jon’s Molten Contra Palin. They just roll off the tongue, no? What’d you get? Oh, and here’s a video of Palin.
