Well, I seems to have stopped watching Sanctuary. Not really consciously, but you know. I guess that’s just how it goes, anyone watching it?
Terminator: Mr. Ferguson is Ill Today
Well, now that we’re in the throes of November sweeps, TV is good. I’ve always thought sweeps were dummm, but, right now I like them. Anyhows. The Sarah Connor Chronicles was good this week, fo’ realz. Sure that whole “Someone’s Story” schtick was done a little cheesily, but it still worked for me. My DVR refused to record that show, it would only “on demand” it, so I could watch it live or from the beginning, no fast forward and no rewind. This resulted in me watching the beginning like 4 times. I’m totally not ok with that.
Anyhow, I think the show was good this week. John continues to annoy just a little bit less but I think I may actually like mom now, although I’m not sure. There wasn’t enough BAG or Summer in this ep, but I have to say and not just because I’m a fan boy, Summer’s the best thing about the show. I think her writing and her plotlines are excellent. From laying in bed with John (sexy and creeeepy!) to my favourite part when she and BAG get to Mexico and he’s all “let’s be stealthy” and she’s all “I need to save John.” I think she’s got a lot of double meaning lines throughout the show that I like. A close runner up to that moment, though, was mom’s breakdown at the very end, I think it was convincing and well done.
Still, I don’t love how easy it was to take out Cromartie all of a sudden. I’m sure we’ve not seen the last of him, but still, it was pretty easy. And the whole jesus thing, eh. I think it crossed the line to over cheesified. Ah well. Good show anyway.
True Blood: I Don’t Wanna Know
Did this episode not kick ass? Did it? Sure I think that Sookie’s reaction to Sam’s shiftiness was a little overblown and kind of from out of nowhere, but I guess she’s going through tough times, so maybe that’s all. Also, I don’t believe for a second that Sam can’t shift into other human forms! That pause before his answer was too pregnant for that.
Also, while I still hate what’s her faces storyline with the drunk mom and the demon and the bad attitude, I really liked when she found that lady in the drug store. Man, that was kick ass. I’m glad it turned out to be fakery – it’d be laying it on all too thick otherwise. Still, I’d love to see her plotlines removed from the show and give more air to the good ones.
Oh, the Jason and the hippie chick continue to be great TV! Man, her monologue on how fantastic she is and how tiny her carbon footprint is while draining the vampire is so, so perfect. One of the best moments of the series if you ask me. I love that the writers didn’t idle on that relationship – just built it up into paradise and then freaking went crazy with her staking the vampire all over Jason. Whooo boy. That was good.
Bill’s trial was good too. Sucks to be that vamp with the teeth pulled out, that was pretty gross. What I thought was odd were the reactions Eric and his lady had to the whole thing. From his words and their expressions it seemed more like they were on his side than not, but then why’d they haul is ass to trial? Beh. I also liked the magister, but found the rest of the vampires a little cheezy and stereotyped. It seems to me like vampires that don’t get to be important characters are all crazy, bloodthirsty stereo types. I’m also totally ok with how Bill freaked out and turned that lady into a vampire (it can’t do wonders for his and the Sook’s relationship to have another lady in the picture!).
Good stuff. November = good tv. Entourage was great, too. I know some folks don’t like this season, but I’m loving it. Blah. What’re you watching?
