TV Roundup: Terminator Season Finale

Wow. So TV’s over for awhile, which is good because I’m away for the rest of December. And then Dollhouse is starting up and even Terminator comes back in February. Good mutha-f’in times.

Terminator: Earthlings Welcome Here

I really liked this episode. Not my favourite of the season, I think, but definitely in the top. Hell, even Basketball sat and watched the whole thing – and normally she leaves in the first 5 minutes… so that’s gotta mean something. I’m still not convinced that Sarah Connor is as awesome as most people find her, but she was the star of this episode and it really was good, so perhaps she is.

The whole UFO con business was pretty funny. When she asked if they killed that guy and the speaker got all defensive… heh. heh. Maria knew immediately that that lady was whatshisname. But still. It was a good sub-plot. I am really having a problem with the whole dream-sequence as real life hints/warnings going on. Like for realz. I think I said it before, but I prefer terminator as an exploration of soul and humanity through cold hard fake science. They should be cutting this magic out. I’m just saying.

I like the whole sub-plot of Riley coming from the future, although it still is a little inexplicable. Why Jesse chose her is still a mystery – do you think that Jesse secretly likes Riley, too? Oooh.. lesbians. Ok. Moving on. It still shows the show’s addiction to time travel – although, maybe they get a technical pass since Riley came at the same time as Jesse did. I thought that Jesse had simply been recruited by Riley in this time frame. The tension between Riley, Cameron and John was pretty good tv this episode.

And finally a good cliffhanger with Sarah all shot up and seeing visions of hunter killers with them damn three dots. February should be interesting!!

So that’s it for 2008. What’d you think of TV for the year?
