So, I’ve often wondered at NYC’s lack of a big pedestrian friendly zone – most other cities I’ve been to have one and I thought we could use one. It seems that NYC felt that way also, it seems that Broadway between 47th and 42nd will get closed down for vehicles (the streets will still go through, though) and turned into a pedestrian friendly zone. You know, benches, chairs, cafes, and all that sort of stuff – I wonder if it will get a new snazzy name? I’m kinda all for it and somehow this is actually going to improve traffic. I’m pretty sure that will happen as a result of Bloomberg waving his magic wand, but whatevs.
Hey! Google is on the twitters! (so am I!) They’re announcing various stuff there and don’t forget the small joys of receiving a tweet in binary. They also announced their new status dashboard for apps, which is a pretty good thing. And then some older stuff, but if you want to stay on top of Google’s goings ons, this is probably a pretty good way.
And if you want to own all the arcade games that Michael Jackson owned, well, now is your chance. He’s auctioning off his machines on the 24th! I guess they aren’t going as one big set, so you can pick them up individually, and there’s a hell of a lot of them. It’s an appropriate time, what with the release of Street Fighter 4 to long for the days of Super Street Fighter II, more or less the original! Huh, he’s also got a 3DO, I had one of those, it was going to be the future of gaming! Man, that guy liked his games.
