iPhone Surges Web Traffic

When I traded up my Treo 650 for my iPhone one of the biggest differences I noticed (and that’s saying something because there were a lot of big differences, savvy?) was the web browser. The browsing experience, completely apart from download speeds, was like night and day - where I would subconciously dread doing anything [...]

Watching stuff on the iPhone

First off, I love my iPhone. Really, it’s probably the single greatest gadget I’ve owned, replacing the previous single greatest gadget I’d owned - my Treo 650. Having said that… I generally agree with Mr Lynch here:

Some movies just need to be seen on a big screen with, sometimes even more importantly, big sound. I [...]

A little iPhone lovin’

I haven’t provided any iPhone love in awhile, so a couple little bits have cropped up that may be of interest. First is this comparison of EDGE vs. UMTS - a 3G technology - speeds (in particular it is the iPhone vs. the Nokia E61i) (via). Although it has both a video and a chart [...]

Google Reader for iPhone gripes

I love Google reader for the iPhone, its simplicity makes it fantastic and fast. Unfortunately, I think they streamlined it a little too much. It’s an 9 out of 10, but with these pretty minor nits, it could go to 11!
Gripe #1 - Why is there no way to read already read posts? True most [...]

Breakfast Links: ThirstyLight, Exploding Bladders & iPhones

My thumbs are decidely not green. While they had a pretty greenesque hue some months ago, they’ve been sliding gently back towards brown in recent days. Turns out that plants like to be watered regularly (they also like to not be chewed on by cats, different story). Now there’s some new device that looks a [...]

iPhone refund: the final chapter

It’s all coming back to me, baby. After however long, I almost forgot that I had an open ticket with American Express’ Return Protection Program (or whatever you get when you call this number 800-297-8019). I just called yesterday afternoon and coincidence of coincidences they just approved the claim and my account should be credited [...]

Apple SDK for iPhone (and iTouch) by February

UPDATE: Ok, so Apple’s going to have an event March 6 where they’ll drop iPhone SDK the roadmap. Looks like it’s delayed until March at least… that’s the rumor at least, but with less than a week left in February seems a reasonable one.
OH SNAP.
From the mouth of Steve to the harddrives of developers everywhere. [...]

Little bit o’ iPhone news

In a report that should surprise no one, NPD Group just released a report that lots and lots of iPhone buyers were once Treo (I remember that great day when I dumped my treo for an iPhone) or Sidekick owners (via). Blackberry’s doing just fine. I got my ratio’s inverted when I was thinking about [...]

Slow week…

by ronin
Lost among the recent Apple iPhone firmware update and subsequent iBricking and iLawsuits and iPundits eviscerating Apple for eschewing third party apps, Apple has quietly launched the iPhone WebApps section of their website. Does anyone still care? I would hope so since web apps are still the only non-Apple apps that you can use [...]

iPhone in the UK and some iPhone rambling

Well mum’s no longer the word in the UK, the iPhone’s officially launched on O2. The event was this morning in London and there weren’t too many surprises. It’s launching on November 9th (ok, that’s a little wierd) and it’s going to be EDGE and not 3G. Interestingly, O2 is going to have free WiFi [...]
